Extension foundations

Foundations for extensions and outbuildings

They must suit the ground, be set out accurately, and be approved by building control before any concrete is poured.

We dig and pour foundations for extensions, garages and outbuildings across Greater Manchester and Cheshire. We check the setting out before we dig, have the trench clean and ready for the inspection, and pour only once the inspector has approved it.

Common questions

Extension foundations: your questions.

How deep will my foundations need to be?

That depends on the ground and on any trees nearby, and your building inspector makes the final decision once the trench is open. We price for the likely depth and explain in the quote how the cost changes if the inspector asks for more.

Who arranges the building control inspection?

Usually you or your builder, because the application is in your name. We will tell you when the trench will be ready, so the inspection can be booked for the right day.

What if you find a drain or an old foundation?

It happens, particularly at older houses. We stop, show you what we have found and explain the options before carrying on. Any extra cost is agreed with you first.
